Toz' Desginer

Minimlizm is not just a design brand. It is the living continuation of a story that began centuries ago.

The designer, toz, was born into the Sikh Ramgarhia Namdhari tradition, a community of true karigars, where each hand carried mastery in Lohar and Tarkhan endeavors. His ancestry traces back to the Khokhar Ryan Boonga family, whose forefathers journeyed from Sialkot across India, lending their skills to the courts of the elite, shaping structures and objects with resilience and precision.

From childhood, toz was immersed in the stories of his grandfathers, their tools, their discipline, their creations. These weren’t just tales; they were lessons in how craft could outlive its maker and still carry meaning for generations. In his blood ran the legacy of Ramgarhia artisanship, a quiet strength refined over centuries of working with wood, metal, and earth.

Raised in the labyrinthine lanes of a laal dora in South Delhi, toz grew up surrounded by raw material and lived tradition. His primary studio remains in South Delhi, rooted in the city’s character, while his work also takes form in his London studio. toz have been traveling across the globe to learn and observe techniques, stories, histories, and design cultures, but it was in London that he took his most decisive step.

At the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA), London, an institution with its own lineage of radical thinkers and designers, toz refined his vision. For him, the AA was not just a school, but a mirror of his grandfather’s workshop: both places where discipline, experimentation, and a respect for material formed the foundation of creation.

Minimlizm was born from this confluence of heritage and modern vision. To bring forward collections crafted from conscious raw materials — wood, earth, metal, glass, and recycled plastic, the brand reintroduces craftsmanship in a way that resonates with today’s mindful generation. Each collection is a dialogue between past and present, exploring one material at a time, crafted into forms that are minimal yet rich, functional yet timeless.

Rooted in tradition. Conscious in design. Timeless in expression. - the soul of Minimlizm.

“Every piece carries a fragment of my heritage, observed from the world, and imagined for tomorrow.”
